St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Aisha Sultan in her Dec. 13, 2019, Sunday commentary cited ALSL for its sensitivity when providing new school uniforms to deserving students, giving young girls skirts instead of pants due to their religious beliefs. "It may not have cost much more money to make that change, but it sends a powerful message to these students and their parents — a message of welcome and respect," Sultan wrote.

Mystery novels, tea and the many lives touched by the work of Assistance League of St. Louis were the focus of a 9 a.m., April 12, KTVI-TV broadcast. It featured Authors Brunch headliner Charles Finch, writer of the popular Charles Lenox mysteries. In full Victorian dress, chair of the April 13 fundraiser, Maureen Swingle, offered a wonderful English accent in telling about the work of Assistance League.

KSDK Anchorwoman Kay Quinn joined Assistance League of St. Louis leaders and Eagle Scout Elijah Edwards for a studio interview on March 1, featuring Assistance League’s work in bringing little libraries and books to Ritenour School District schools.

Assistance League President Roxie Randolph was featured in a video and print article in the January 25 edition of the St. Louis Business Journal in its “St. Louis Character” feature. St. Louis Business Journal subscribers can find the video and feature article on their website. 

Assistance League of St. Louis was chosen as the January 2019 recipient of the KMOX Radio Voice of Caring award.

On November 27, Assistance League of St. Louis held the official Grand Opening of Al's Closets at Adams Elementary School.  Assistance League has set up these unique, fully-equipped closets in 17 Saint Louis Public Schools to more quickly respond to needs and provide basic clothing to deserving schoolchildren. View the Fox 2 News Coverage.
